Microblading, also referred to as eyebrow embroidery, 3D brows, feather stroke brows, is the process of manually implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin using sterile micro needles to produce the appearance of hair strokes.
Is it a type of tattoo?
Yes, It is semi-permanent, and is different from the permanent tattoos that are common in the Philippines that most usually look like block-shaded brows. Natural-looking brows are done by manual stroking, and reaches only up to the epidermis-dermis barrier.

This is Charm with her Master at her level-up certification.
Weeks before my treatment, Charm have already briefed me on what to expect, what to do and not to do so I can prepare myself. My appointment was at 8AM, ang aga noh? But since I was up already from taking the kids to school, I had no problem with the very early appointment. She currently holds clinic in Tarlac and in Mandaluyong, where I had my procedure done.
Hello world! This is me sans make up which I am most days. Notice my kilay? One is more makapal and has defined shape than the other which I don't like and gives me a hard time when putting kilay. Hindi ko talaga sila napapantay! That's why I was super excited for this "new beginning" for my kilay. Haha!
Before getting started, I filled up some forms while Charm prepared and set up her tools.
Then I lied down and she started measuring my brows, I told her about my concerns and she asked me how do I want my brows (may arch ba o straight lang). I like how meticulous she is and how she encourages me to tell her what I want. I think it took us an hour to finish shaping/drawing my brows. It's really a process, I didn't mind that how long it took because in the end, it is my brows, my face, I want my brows to be "perfect".
Finally done and getting ready for the next step!
Next is putting the topical anesthesia before Charm started to fill in my brows.
Mukha pa din naman akong chill diba? I am still smiling. Heehee! When I felt a little pain (but very tolerable), I would tell Charm and she would stop and work on my other brow naman. Totoo, mas masakit pa ang threading! Promise!
The whole procedure took about 2 to 3.5 hours including the measuring. Make sure to have breakfast but a light one lang. If you are planning to take someone with you, tell him/her to bring his/her own entertainment so they won't get bored. There's a mall beside, they can also hang out there in case they get really bored. :)
Last step is putting on the color pigment. There are different shades for the pigment, I let Charm choose the pigment for me, that's how much I trust her. I've seen her works and a lot of my friends who have seen her work all said the same, ang galing ni Charm! You can always tell Charm what you want, don't be afraid to tell her ha.
Finally after 3 hours, eyebrows on fleek na! Yay!
Thank you Charm! I super duper love my brows! :)
From awkward brows to fuller brows! The one on the left is right after the procedure.
From sabog to well groomed brows all day everyday, 24/7, 365 days! Heehee!
This is how my brows looks one week after. It gets darker as it heals. I went on vacation with a scabby brows haha! It gets really itchy when healing, so avoid scratching it!
This is me without any eyebrow product, which is most days.
And this is me using K-Palette on my brows. I can finally do my brows without having to second guess kung pantay ba. Haha! I love it!
